PHILOSOPHERS AT THE SERVICE OF SOCIETY
For the first time, students competed in the Humanities Ideathon, an innovation ideas competition.
Organized by the ELTE Faculty of Humanities and the ELTE Innovation Centre, the two-day competition saw participating undergraduate and doctoral students take an innovative approach to social and economic problems, and then use their knowledge of the humanities to turn their ideas into projects. The most popular ideas were further developed in teams and presented to a jury of three judges from the business and innovation community.
Participants were mentored by the Pozi.io's expert trainers during brainstorming, implementation, and presentation.

The teams came up with six ideas, including moving museums into virtual space, a language learning app, an emotional state-based culture recommendation, an app to rethink travel and language learning, and an alternative educational institution. The idea "Knowledge is Power" won first place. The team working on the idea developed the concept of an unusual board game, which brings the world of humanities and universities closer to the players in the form of an exciting strategy game divided into rounds.
Thanks to the sponsors, all teams came away with valuable prizes, the expert jury offered to collaborate on some of the projects, and the highest scoring teams each received a spa weekend for two.
The event was organised to "Develop ELTE's Innovation Ecosystem in line with industry requirements." 2019-1.2.1-EGYETEMI-ÖKO-2019-00004, funded by the NKFIH grant.
