WHY YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL OF MAKING NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS AS A STARTUP
It’s almost time for that part of the year again when we go for a New Year’s resolution. Or two. Or five. And we keep going until we have exhausted every other option out there we have about potentially using the slither of luck we get throughout the new year. And we keep hoping our hopes and prayers will get responded to.
This is every child’s dream during the Christmas/ New Year season. However, letting that season sway you and your state of mind might do more bad than good, and this is why.
You see, inherently, there is nothing bad with making a few wishes here and there and keeping to them throughout the year, on birthdays when you need to blow out the candles, or when you see a shooting star. However, we do need to land back down to earth and see it for what it is:
Hopes are amazing drivers… when we build an action plan around them.
The matter of hoping about stuff, ‘manifesting’ it, and worrying about how and when things will happen for or to us can do a number of things, and all of them are connected with taking a step back. Taking a step back from ‘doing’.
You see when you decide you ‘would like to’, you ‘hope for’, you ‘pray for’ something, you take out the aspect of physically or mentally making the plan, creating the strategy, and charting out the action that you need to undertake so you can come closer to realizing whatever it is you are going for.
‘Manifesting’ does a much similar thing. It’s ‘doing’s little cousin. It does take you a step closer, but it’s still not ‘doing’.
When you are hoping for something, but you also create a tangle plan around it, you put things into action. You set your mind to it and you fulfil it. You know it’s on the agenda, and it’s not waiting for a reminder, or a date past due ringer, or an alarm to call out for you for the 5th time.
You just go ahead, and you just do it. You don’t wait for things to commence or some external power to help move things closer to you, your hands and your thoughts.
You do it. You are the one moving mountains.
When you go back to making wishes and dreams for the new year, ask yourself the question “And how do I put it into action now?” right after you are done wishing for it. What makes it so unachievable that you need to hope an external force to bring it to you?
Nothing is unreachable, and everything is scary when you look at it from afar. The most important thing is for you to just start. This is when you’ll find your courage and persevere.
So, what are you wishing for this New Year’s?
